* - The firearm loads cartridge rounds into an integral magazine, but loading the firearm is cumbersome and therefore the weapon’s Ammo Type is considered to be Cap and Ball.

Cartridge Conversion – Cap and ball ammunition converted to cartridge ammunition. Only cap and ball can be converted to cartridge, black powder cannot be converted without prohibitive cost; it would be less expensive to buy a new, factory produced firearm.

Target Scope – User may act as though he possesses the Sniper skill with a requisite aim count of 10 instead of 5. If the user possesses the Sniper skill, the Target Scope reduces his aim count to 3.

Personalized Modifications – The modifications present on an existing firearm may only be used by a specific individual and the person who installed the modifications.  The character's name will go on the tag over the modifications to signify only the individual can use those features.

Depersonalize Modifications – Removes the Personalized Modifications modification without removing the existing modifications.

Extended Capacity – The capacity of the firearm is increased by the rank of Extended Capacity. (maximum of 2 for pistol and 3 for rifle)

High Powered – (Rifle only modification) Shots fired from the firearm inflict Knockdown in addition to the normal firearm damage. When firing the weapon, “Knockdown” must be stated after the firearm type. When fired, a High Powered firearm inflicts 5 Normal damage to the user. This damage is reduced by 1 for every rank of the Strength skill or for every 2 ranks of the Finesse skill that the character possesses.

Superior Alloy – The gun will have a threshold of X, where X is the rank of alloy used to make the gun.  This gun will have a "threshold" where crushing damage calls of X or less will not affect the gun.

Sturdy Safety - This gun doesn't misfire.  Any misfired shots from the gun will not count.  This ability cannot be used with a hair trigger.

Ease of Use (Rifles) - This modificaiton lets the target rifle be used with the Pistol skill.

Pre-measured Load (ammo cost x 2) - A pre-measured load is a specialized ammunition for black powder (BP) firearms.  A measured amount of powder and lead ball are packaged in a paper packet that the soldier tears open and pours down the barrel of his firearm, greatly speeding the loading process.  A pre-measured load reduces the load time of a BP firearm by 10 seconds.

Paper Cartridge (ammo cost x 2) - A paper cartridge contains a pre-measured load of powder and a lead bullet wrapped in a paper tube that has been chemically treated.  Upon ignition, the cartridge burns swiftly and is completely consumed while firing the weapon.  Paper cartridges make loading a cap and ball (C&B) firearm much easier.  While loading a paper cartridge, a character may load while he is under active fire.
